Abstract

897,517. Moulding inserts for boxes. COLE Ltd., E. K., and JARRETT, J. Aug. 16, 1961 [April 13, 1960], No. 13126/60. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XVII]. An injection moulding of polyethylene forming an insert for a crate, as shown in Fig. 1, is formed by the mould shown in Figs. 2 and 3. Spaces 11, 12, Fig. 2, correspond to connecting strips 5 joining top strips 1, 2 to base strips 3, 4, of the insert. The top strips 1, 2 are formed in slots 7a, 7b. Projections 10 are slightly shorter than projections 7 on the base of the mould to provide the strips 3, 4. Several pouring openings are provided in the plate 6. In a modification of the mould, the projections 7 are circular in cross-section and project from square platforms on the part 6 of the mould and the cruciform projections 10 have concave walls to fit snugly over the projections 7. In this embodiment the slots 7a, 7b are replaced by slots in the underside of the plate 9.
