896,993. Handmixing appliances. RAND, S. D. Dec. 13, 1960 [Sept. 21, 1959], No. 32106/59. Class 86. In a battery-operated hand-held mixer the motor casing 22, a conical metal shield 34 and a metal disc 35 form a removable assembly retained in the housing 10 by a screwed securing ring 32. An axial extension of the motor shaft carries a split chuck 37 to receive a detachable stirrer shaft 36. The dry batteries are accommodated in the casing 11 which is integral with the motor housing 10 and also serves as a handle; it carries a switch 25 and a bail wire 15, (see Figs. 1 and 3 not shown) by which the appliance may be suspended from a hook.
