Class 44, [Also in Group XIII] Means for securing a part against the front face of a part formed of sheet material comprises a plurality of spring clips 10 each formed by a U-shaped strip whose upwardly extending limbs are bulged inwardly near the base of the U to form a constricted neck 11 and are each formed near the forward ends with an outwardly bulged portion 12, 13 cut across by a transverse slot 14 each clip being inserted in an aperture formed in the sheet metal part with the base of the U projecting to the rear and the edges of the aperture engaged in the transverse slots, so that the clip is retained by its own resilience, and a plurality of rearwardly-extending projections 16 carried by the first part and spaced to correspond to the spacing of the apertures, each projection passing through the aperture between the limbs of the clip retained therein and being resiliently gripped by the constricted neck 11 of the clip. As shown, a lining 7 of polystyrene is releasably fastened in an outer casing 5 of a refrigerator by means of a plurality of studs 16 formed on trim strips 15 and which engage through apertures around the periphery of the lining with the spring clips 10 fitted into holes formed in a flange 6 of the casing 5. The studs 16 may be formed directly on the lining, thus dispensing with the strips 15.
