Abstract

896,105. Two-part couplings. PAINTON & CO. Ltd. Jan. 8, 1960 [Jan. 15, 1959], No. 1542/59. Class 38 (1). A contact which is inserted endwise into a channel 15 in an insulating holder 14 has a forward end bearing resiliently against the interior of the channel and a shank 5 formed with lateral projections 21, 22 which engage the interior surface of the channel to prevent displacement of the shank. The projections 21, 22 may have forwardly directed flanges at their ends to bear on the channel walls (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown), and may be offset from the centre of the shank 5 (Fig. 5, not shown). The contact may be a socket member as illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2 or a pin member (Fig. 7, not shown). Specification 700,999 is referred to.
