Abstract
894,474. Glass blowing apparatus. ASSOCIATED ELECTRIC INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 20, 1960 [Nov. 5, 1959], No. 37590/59. Class 56. [Also in Group XXIX] A compressed gas used in glass blowing, such as compressed air used to prevent glassware from collapsing, is fed to a supply tube 5 having a branch 6 leading to the workpiece, there being a pressure release port in the tubing to control the supply of gas to the workpiece, the release port being under the control of a valve operated by a second source of compressed air or other fluid. In the form shown, the control valve comprises the flexible diaphragm 3 which can be blown against the end of the tube 4 by the control pressure supplied, for example, from the mouth of the operator or a manually actuated bellows or bulb and applied to the tube 7. If the control pressure is released, the compressed gas from the tube 5 escapes through a ring of holes 8.
