Abstract

893,203. Spring support units. CIELUCH, H. Nov. 24, 1960 [Dec. 11, 1959], No. 42144/59. Class 108(3). A suspension device for resiliently supporting a generally horizontal pipe 11 comprises a clip 12 which is carried by a rod 13 supported for rotational and universal angular movement by a vertically-adjustable, partspherical, bearing washer 15 on a yoke 14 the opposite sides of which are each connected by a link 19 incorporating a turn buckle 26 to a lever 17 in a spring-loaded suspension system mounted at one end of a box-like frame 10 adapted to be secured over the pipe suspension system. The two suspension systems, symmetrically disposed on opposite sides of a central transverse plane of the frame 10, each includes a lever 17 which is pivotally mounted in the frame 10 at 18 and incorporates a sprocket-wheel segment 20 which meshes with a gear chain 24 connected by a rod 23 to a thrust disc 22 between which and the corresponding end of the frame 10 a compression spring 21 is constrained. The common axis of the spring 21, the disc 22, the tension rod 23, which slides in a guide tube 25, and the chain 24 is disposed tangentially to the segment 20. The upper end of the rod 13 may be temporarily fitted with a coupling nut 26 for connecting the rod 13 to the frame 10 during testing periods. A single spring-loaded system is also described.
