Abstract
892,555. Bolts &c. TRUSCON Ltd. Oct. 18, 1960 [Oct. 27, 1959], No. 36457/59. Class 89(1). A fixing device for attaching objects to concrete beams, ceilings &c., comprises a slotted insert in the form of a channel which is embedded in the concrete beam &c., and a nut adapted to be removably held in the channel to receive a fixing bolt. The insert has flanges 17, Fig. 3, flush with the surface of. the beam &c., parallel throat parts 15 and divergent walls 15. The walls then converge again to a flat base 14. The nut 21 is four-sided and provided with a threaded bore 22, Fig. 2. Two opposite side surfaces 23 of the nut are parallel and spaced apart by a distance slightly less than the distance between the inside surfaces 13 of the insert. The other two opposite side faces 24 are more widely spaced and inclined to mate with the divergent insert faces, in addition these nut faces are displaced obliquely to the other side faces, the corners 26, 27, at the ends of the major diagonal forming angles, for example, of 85 degrees. The lower face of the nut is provided with a projecting rib 35, Fig. 3, to show from below when the nut is properly positioned. A coil spring 34 is arranged below the base of the insert and the largest face of the nut. Specification 842,334 is referred to.
