Abstract

A machine for welding the joints in a PVC window frame and operable by a single operator comprising a bed (40) on which two or more welding heads (41, 42, 43) are mounted, each head being adapted to perform automatically and cyclically a joint welding operation, the operating cycle and functions of each welding head being pre-programmed and controlled by electronic means and the welding machine including selection means (48) whereby the operator can select either or any welding head to operate independently of but at the same time as the other head or heads whereby that selected head can be loaded by the operator ready for welding while the other head or heads which have previously been loaded are carrying out their welding cycle, the operating cycle then repeating. Two head (21, 22) may be mounted on a bed (20) and one head is rotatable relative to the other to permit a window frame part inserted therein for welding to protrude from the rear thereof without contacting the other head. The machine also has a perimeter rail (30) to allow the frame being welded to rest thereon. <IMAGE>
