Abstract

890,033. Irrigation systems. GIBBONS, J. S. Oct. 24, 1960 [Oct. 23, 1959], No. 35978/59. Class 33. [Also in Group XXIX] A header 5 is supplied with water via a tank 1 and filter 3, and feeds one or more tubes 7 of thin flexible plastic material of substantially elliptical cross-section. Each tube has perforations along its length located about midway of one wider face through which the water can seep. Each tube is connected at one end to the header through a valve connector 6 enabling flow through the tube to be controlled, and the tube is held under slight tension by a clip 8, Fig. 5, of spring wire which nips the opposite end between jaws 14. The clip has a prong 17 for insertion into the ground and a spring portion 16. Both wider faces of the tubes may be perforated.
