In the combination of a light meter and a photographic objective the two are detachably secured together and arranged in such a manner that an indicator which is mounted on the light meter indicates the light intensity setting of the objective and can be brought into registry with the light intensity reading given by the light meter. As shown, a light meter b is detachably secured on an objective a by means of a known type of mount e. Cams k and n connected respectively to diaphragm and shutter spaced setting means are themselves coupled to the follow-up pointer d<SP>11</SP> of a light meter instrument d by way of a differential rocker f pivoted on a lever g<SP>1</SP> pivoted at g, a bellcrank lever g<SP>11</SP> coupled to lever g<SP>1</SP> by a pin-and-slot coupling h<SP>11</SP> and pivoted at g<SP>3</SP>, a slide g<SP>5</SP> engaged by an abutment g<SP>4</SP> on lever g<SP>11</SP>, a lever h pivoted at h<SP>1</SP> and engaged by a projection q on slide g<SP>5</SP>, and an operating pin i. The cams and n may be adjusted together for varying the exposure time-diaphragm aperture combination at constant exposure value. The diaphragm is of the pre-setting type, in that the blades r pivoted at r<SP>1</SP> may be moved prior to exposure from the wide open position shown in Fig. 3 by means of a lever p coupled to a push button release o and also by means of a diaphragm blade control ring q<SP>1</SP> until a pin s on a plate r<SP>2</SP> carried by one of the blades r engages with a cam m which is connected to and positioned by a diaphragm setting lever l.
