Abstract

888,450. Stud and socket fasteners; screw sockets &c. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Aug. 18, 1959 [Sept. 8, 1958], No. 28225/59. Classes 44 and 89(1). A fastening device formed as a one piece moulding 10 of synthetic plastic material comprises a head portion 12 having an opening extending therethrough and two substantially parallel legs 14, 14 extending from the head portion on opposite sides of the aperture, each of the legs having a raised boss 26 spaced from the head portion 12 and from the side edges of the leg on which it is located, such that when the legs are inserted through an aperture in a support, the fastener will be retained by the head engaging one face of the support end the bosses engaging the opposite face of the support. A screw 38 cuts threads in the device to hold an article 42 on the support 40. The boss may be a pip instead of a rib.
