887,536. Heating liquids by electric resistances. HAAKE, P. Dec. 30, 1959 [Jan. 3, 1959], No. 44337/59. Class 39(3) Apparatus for conditioning the temperature of a bath comprises a housing 10 having a portion immersed into said bath and provided with an inlet 28 and an outlet 30 for the liquid of said bath, a pump 22 in said housing 10 mounted to feed a stream of liquid entering saidhousing 10 through said inlet 28 towards and out of said outlet 30, an electric motor 27 in said housing 10 and connected with said pump 22 for the operation thereof, a temperatureconditioning element, such as an electrical heating element 29, mounted within said housing 10 in heat exchange relationship with said stream, and a thermostat 33 carried by said housing 10 and mounted to be responsive to the temperature of the liquid fed out of said outlet 30 for controlling the temperature of said temperature-conditioning element 29. The apparatus shown has a plurality of inlets 28 and a second outlet 31 and is supported from the wall 23 of a vat containing the bath by a bracket 26 having three pins which are sprung into any one of three sets of holes provided at different elevations in the wall of the housing 10. The housing 10 may be formed by two moulded sections of polymerized material secured together along a vertical plane by an adhesive or by bolts.
