Abstract
887,355. Screening apparatus. CAMERON MACLEAN & CO., J., March 14, 1960 [March 14, 1959], No. 8910/59. Class 117. A screen 1 is carried by pairs of supports 4 on a base frame 2 resiliently supported by rubber pillars 14 on a surface 3, and the screen and frame are oscillated by an eccentric 21 on a shaft 19 belt-driven by a motor 25 on the frame. In order to adjust the working stroke of the screen, portable weights 17 are bolted to cross members 16 of the frame. The eccentric detachables carries weights 22 of graded sizes and thickness, so that by adding or removing such weights a further range of adjustment of the screen stroke is provided. Buffer devices 7, 8 on the frame co-operate with brackets 9 projecting from the screen sides, and each device comprises a pair of rubber buffers 10 on threaded rods 11 adjustably secured in arms 12. The devices 7 have their buffers in engagement with the brackets 9 whereas the buffers of the other devices are spaced from their co-operating brackets. The rubber pillars 14 may be replaced by supports similar to the supports 4, and the buffers 10 of the devices 7 may be replaced by buffer heads urged against the brackets 9 by steel coil springs. The screen comprises mesh panels 1B held by timber runners 1C and wedges, or by bolts extending through the runners and the screen frame.
