Abstract

886,682. Roller conveyers. BURTON, R. C. Aug. 7, 1959 [May 7, 1958], No. 14606/58. Class 78 (1). An article resting on roller platform 1 is displaced therefrom on to roller platform 4 by means of reciprocating grid 50. The grid is carried by wheels 17, 18 moving in channels 9, 10, 12 and is propelled by fluid cylinder 21 so that, as it moves left-right in Fig. 1, it rises above platform 1, thus lifting up the article and transferring it rightwards till the grid drops to leave the article on platform 4, the grid then returning leftwards to complete the cycle. In this way, an article may be transferred from one belt conveyer to another, the roller platforms forming, respectively, the delivery station of one conveyer and the feeding station of the second conveyer.
