885,698. Parquet flooring. VAN WINGERDEN, W. Feb. 23, 1959 [Feb. 22, 1958], No. 6217/59. Classes 20(4) and 87(1) A parquet floor or a panel for use in assembling a parquet floor is formed by three layers 1, 2, 3 of thin flexible elements of wood &c. of approximately equal thickness, the elements of the centre layer 2 being disposed in staggered or cross-wise relation to the elements of the two adjacent layers, spaces 9 for expansion being provided between the individual elements of the centre and bottom layers, the three layers being joined together with a permanently adhesive and elastic material. The panel may be formed with the bottom layer displaced in relation to the other two layers so that the bottom layer and the other two layers each protrude beyond the other along two adjacent sides of the panel. The protruding portions are wholly or partly covered with a permanently adhesive and elastic material.
