882,785. Industrial truck driving gear. CONVEYANCER FORK TRUCKS Ltd. April 1, 1958 [April 18, 1957], No. 41821/60. Divided out of 12777/57. Class 79(2). A fork lift truck has a pair of wheels 1, 2 independently driven by hydraulic or pneumatic motors 30, 31 through supply lines 32, 33 from pumps or compressors 34, 35, the circuits incorporating valves for varying the motor speeds on opposite sides and for cutting off or reversing the drive on one side during steering. Rheostats 10, 11 incorporated in the steering system operate to control pressure reducing valves (not shown) for varying the speeds. Movement of the steering sprocket 9 of the steerable wheel through a predetermined angle brings an abutment 14 into engagement with valves 18 or 20 which stop or reverse the motor on the inside of the turning circle.
