Abstract

A filter having a honeycomb structure is made (see Group V) by coating both sides of a flexible organic carrier with a suspension of finely divided ceramic material and a binder, corrugating the carrier, forming the corrugated carrier into a filter, and then firing it to sinter the ceramic particles. The corrugated carrier may be associated with a similar carrier which is not corrugated. The Specification includes details of the ceramic materials, the binder, and the carrier.
