882,241. Mounting rear lamps on cycles. SEYMOUR, H. H. Nov. 29, 1957 [Aug. 29, 1956; Aug. 14, 1957], Nos. 26390/56 and 25628/57. Classes 75(3) and 75(4) The rear lamp and reflector for cycles and other single track vehicles are mounted on a transverse bracket having opposed lugs with holes to which adjustable mounting brackets of approximately L-shape are secured, the mounting brackets having holes in the vertical part for securing to mudguard stay brackets. The mounting brackets may be arranged with their horizontal legs pointing inwards or outwards according to the width of the mudguard to which the lamp is to be fitted. The lamp 2 and reflector 9 together with two shockproof containers 10 for spare lamp bulbs may be carried on a white frame 8 of metal or plastic mounted on a transverse bracket 4 by bolts 7 by which L-shaped brackets 5 are also geared, the lower ends 6 of which are fixed between the mudguard bracket and clips holding the mudguard stays. Shaped spacers may be interposed between the transverse bracket and the mudguard. Reference is made to the use of a single mounting bracket on one side only.
