Abstract

881,560. Slip couplings. SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN A.B. June 27, 1960 [June 26, 1959], No. 22443/60. Class 80 (2). An overload release clutch comprises rollers 4 urged resiliently radially outwardly of a driving member 1 by spring washers 8 into contact with the inner periphery of a driven member 2a. Rollers 3 project inwardly from slots in the driven member and bear against a ring 20 adjustably locked to the driven member by a screw 21. The ring 20 has grooves 22, the depth of each of which varies so that the radial position of the rollers 3 can be varied by adjusting the angular position of the ring 20 to thereby vary the maximum torque transmittable. The driving rollers 4 are mounted in radial slots in a ring 5 which is locked to the driving member 1, which houses the springs 8, by a pin 18.
