880,086. Metal fencing posts and the like. KRUGER, C. J., and SOUTH AFRICAN IRON & STEEL INDUSTRIAL CORPORATION Ltd. May 20, 1960 [May 20, 1959; Jan. 4, 1960; March 10, 1960], No. 17828 /60. Class 45. [Also in Group XXII] A fencing post, standard, spacer or the like comprises an elongated metalic member with a cross-section having enlarged area concentration regions at the centre 1, and in two flanking positions 2, connected by narrow web-like regions 3, symmetrically arranged and provided with shoulders 4, forming longitudinal planes throughout the length of the member; the regions being arranged so as to obtain an optimum combination of resistance to bending, torsioning and buckling. The member has holes 17 with lead-ins 18 cut in to the shoulders and is pointed by shearing the end portions angularly along regions 2 and 3.
