Abstract
878,148. Photographic cameras. GAUTHIER G.m.b.H., ALFRED. Nov. 29, 1957 [Jan. 24, 1957], No. 37346/57. Class 98(1) In a camera having an interchangeable lens and a diaphragm which remains fully open up to the moment of exposure and then closes to a pre-determined aperture, the diaphragm aperture pre-setting ring is mounted on the camera and is couplable with a shutter-speed setting ring preferably so that on rotation therewith the speed and aperture are adjusted to each counteract the changes in exposure value produced by the other. As shown, the interchangeable lens, Fig. 2, is mounted on a shutter housing Fig. 1, fixed to the camera body, and diaphragm controlling arm 17 passes through pre-setting ring 14 and engages an abutment 19a on diaphragm opening ring 19. On winding on the film in the camera, ring 19 is operated through shaft 23, gear 22 and toothed segment 19b to open the shutter blades and the diaphragm. The shutter is opened on moving ring 32, which carries the blade pivots, by the co-action of abutment 19c and arm 32a. Ring 19 is thereafter retained by a latch. On releasing the shutter, the latch is released and ring 19 returns under spring 44. Arm 17 is driven by a spring in the lens until it strikes a prepositioned edge of an aperture in ring 14. Ring 14 may be held stationary by latching shutter speed ring 13 to which it is normally coupled on ring 12 which is connected to ring 13 and which controls the shutter mechanism. Rings 13 and 14 are coupled together by means of teeth 13a and an axially slidable member (Fig. 3, not shown) on ring 14. The shutter housing can receive objectives having different maximum relative apertures. The reduced path of movement of arm 17 for lenses of less than the largest possible maximum aperture (from the same starting point 19a) is then accommodated by broadening arm 17 in the direction of its travel (Fig. 5, not shown). Specification 744,962 is referred to.
