Abstract

A therapeutic composition comprises isoniazid and an acetylation inhibitor which is either salicylhydroxamic acid, 5-bromosalicylhydroxamic acid, 4-aminosalicylhydroxamic acid or 6 - aminonicotinylhydroxamic acid. The ratio of isoniazid to acetylation inhibitor is between 1 to 5 and 1 to 30. A tablet contains 50 mg. isoniazid and 500 mg. 5-bromosalicylhydroxamic acid. This is tasteless and produces no gastrointestinal side effects.
