Abstract

877,921. Transistor amplifying circuits. TELEFUNKEN G.m.b.H. Jan. 20, 1958 [Jan. 19, 1957], No. 1814/58. Class 40(6) In an amplifying stage in which the input electrode of a transistor is biased from a voltage divider R1,R2 connected across the power supply, positive feedback is used to reduce the loading thrown on the previous stage by the voltage divider. In one embodiment, transistor T1, Fig. 1, feeds a loudspeaker 3 via a tapped choke 4 and positive feedback is obtained by returning resistor R2 to one end of the choke and the collector to the other, the tap being connected to the supply. In another embodiment positive feedback is obtained by returning resistor R1, Fig. 3, to a tap on the secondary of an output transformer 5 feeding loudspeaker 3. In this embodiment negative feedback is applied across transistor T1 at high frequencies by means of condenser C2, and in addition, there is overall negative feedback including a preceding transistor stage T2, by means of resistor R4 and blocking condenser C3. The first stage may alternatively comprise a thermionic valve (Fig. 4, not shown).
