In a diesel engine, nozzles 4 discharging individual cylinder exhaust gases via diffusers 6 and one-way valves 18 to a turbine 10 powering a charge air centrifugal blower (not shown) are surrounded by chambers 5 connected by pipes 12, 14 to each other and to the turbine outlet 16.
