876,178. Milling. STOCKHOLMS HARDMETALL-MANUFAKTUR HAMA A.B. Dec. 27,1957, No. 40197/57. Class 83 (3). Means for setting a blade in a milling cutter comprises both a template 19 and a feeler 13 for contacting the blade. Each blade has a screw 24 bearing on the bottom of the slot 30 in the body 6. With the cutter clamped on a mounting 2 by a wing nut 7 so that the blade 21 rests against the template 19, the reading of a dial gauge 14, which measures the displacement of the rod 13, is noted. The cutter is then swung round until the blade 20 can be rocked to engage the template 19. Next, a ring nut 29 is rotated to move a rod 15 against the blade to displace it axially until the dial gauge registers the previously noted reading. Screws 23 are finally tightened to clamp the blade in position. The rod 13 may be replaced by an oscillating lever or a rod sliding in a direction parallel to the edge of the template 19.
