Abstract

A moulding material is made by mixing a linear polyamide with a stearate of diethylene glycol. The mono- or di-stearate may be used. In the examples, diethylene glycol monostearate is mixed with granules of polyamides made from: (1) S -caprolactam, phosphoric acid and water and (2) S -caprolactam, acetic acid and water, the resultant compositions being injection moulded into combs. Polyhexamethylene diammonium adipate may also be used as the linear polyamide.
