Abstract
874,294. Seats. DAIMLER-BENZ A. G. Oct. 19, 1959 [Oct. 18, 1958], No. 35397/59. Class 52(4). A sprung seat has a resilient pad 14 mounted beneath the region of maximum loading so that it comes into action as a support after a predetermined deflection of the main spring element 13. In modifications different shapes of the abutting surfaces of the spring 13 and pad 14 are used. In another modification the resilient pad is mounted on a spring. In a further modification shorter springs or resilient pads 54 are arranged inside the main seat springs 53 (Fig. 5). In yet a further modification Fig. 7 the resilient pad 79 is mounted on a sprung lever 74 which may derive its action either from the front edge or by the engagement of the rear end with frame 78.
