Abstract

873,684. Culinary mixers. KENWOOD MANUFACTURING (WOKING) Ltd. May 17, 1960 [April 8, 1959; Feb. 25, 1960], Nos. 11882/59 and 6695/60. Class 86 In a culinary mixer of the type described in Specification 873,685 in which the driving motor is mounted below the top of the table or cabinet, and the mixing bowl and the beater-carrying pillar are detachably mounted on the table top, the pillar is formed in two parts 37, 35 hinged about a pin 38 offset from the centre of the pillar. The pillar is retained in the closed position by a catch (see Figs. 3, 4 and 5, not shown) releasable by a cam 73 carried on a rod 74 rotatable by operation of a trigger 75. A spring 46, Fig. 6, assists in the upward tilting movement of the pillar portion 37, the movement of which is limited by engagement of the surfaces 48, 49. The pillar carries a beater arm 22 divided at 24 to enable the beater head 23 to be replaced by a mincer, grater or other auxiliary device. The driving shaft 28 operates the shaft 56 through a dog clutch 54, 55 which disengages when the upper portion 37 of the pillar is tilted. The dog clutch member 54, 53 also has a slot 52 forming one half of a sliding coupling 51, 52 and is urged upwards by a spring 57 to allow for the dog clutch members 54, 55 not being in alignment when the pillar is closed.
