A milling-cutter comprises a series of blades 15, which may be toothed for gear hobbing, located in slots which may be axially or helically arranged in a body 10 and each having a projection 16 at each end, the blades being secured to the body by collars 18 shrunk over the pro-, jections at opposite ends of the cutter. The slots end in annular recesses 12 filled by split annular spacers 17. The side-faces 14 of the slots are radial.
