Abstract

872,065. Cartons containers. HEDWIN CORPORATION. March 31, 1959, No. 10874/59. Classes 18 and 66. A rigid rectangular carton 22 within which fits a semi-rigid inner container 40 e.g. of thermoplastic material has a perforated removable portion 38 below which a foldable spout 46 of the insert 40 is positioned so as to project through the carton 22 when the portion 38 has been knocked-out, after closing up the carton. To close the carton, the filled insert 40 is first placed therein, flaps 24 and 26 fitted with cutouts 28 and 30 are folded in followed by flap 32 and then flap 34 with the sealed spout 46. Perforations in the side 56 of the carton 22 define a handhold 58. In modifications, the position of the handholes is altered ; the knock-out portion extends over an edge of the carton ; or a bendable handle is provided. Specification 863,024 is referred to.
