Abstract

871,802. Drafting textile fibres. ABBOTT MACHINE CO. Inc. Jan. 27, 1958, No. 2655/58. Classes 120(2) and 120(3) As fibres in the form of rovings are drafted they are passed through confining means that are rotated in a direction opposite to that of the twist in the rovings, the rovings initially containing more twist than would permit of satisfactory drafting and the confining means reducing this twist to a value conducive to satisfactory drafting. The apparatus employed may be similar to that described in Specification 658,714 wherein fibre engaging members 14 are reciprocated by mechanism driven by a belt 21. A mounting 15 carrying the members 14 is rotated through gears 24, 25.
