[Also in Group XXVIII] The lifting column 1 of a friction ratchet jack is hollow and constitutes the cylinder of an air pump. The piston 10 is reciprocated by a rod 2 which is provided with a handle 12 pivotable through 90 degrees about a pin 11, and which, when withdrawn from the cylinder, fits into a socket 8 and serves as a jack actuating lever. In a modification (not shown) the rod 2 is fitted with a wheel brace and hub cap removing member.
