869,331. Heat exchangers. COMPAGNIE DE PONT-A-MOUSSON. Dec. 28, 1959 [Dec. 31, 1958], No. 44013/59. Class 64(3) A heat exchanger for heating air by combustion gases comprises a casing 9 within which is an element E consisting of a substantially rectangular tube having fins 4 forming a longitudinal line dividing the surface of the tube into two and fins 5, 6, 7, 8 disposed as shown. Air enters the cavity between the casing and the tube through openings 10, is guided along the tube by the fins, and leaves by openings 11. The combustion gases pass through the interior of the tube. The separate fins 7, 8 may be rectilinear or curved or the fins may be continuous.
