Abstract

869,123. Sawtooth generating circuits. PHILCO CORPORATION. Oct. 23, 1957 [Oct. 31, 1956], No. 33090/57. Class 40(6) A cathode-ray tube deflection circuit comprises means for converting fly-back pulses into a correction voltage having non-linearity substantially complementary to that of the deflection current, the correction voltage being applied across a resistor in series with the damping diode. The Figure shows a horizontal deflection circuit in which linearity is improved by applying to the anode of the damping diode 12, a correcting voltage derived by integrating flyback pulses 19 appearing on an auxiliary winding 18 of the scanning transformer 11. The integrating circuit is formed by an inductor 20 and a resistor 21. Inductor 22 and capacitor 23 may be included to give further improvement by providing a complementary non-linear correction voltage. Ranges of component values are specified.
