867,668. Electrophotographic processes. KOLB, 0. K. (Haloid Co.). Nov. 21, 1957, No. 36304/57. Drawings to Specification. Class 98(2) [Also in Groups XVI and XXXVI] In a xerographic printing process using a photoconductive layer having a transparent insulating overcoat, the residual charges are removed from the plate after development and transfer of the developed image by charging the insulating layer to a polarity opposite to that used for the initial uniform charging, and exposing the photoconductive layer uniformly to activating radiation. The recharging and uniform exposure steps may be carried out simultaneously. A process is described wherein the xerographic plate is in the form of a cylinder which rotates past the various stations.
