Abstract

866,941. Neckties; pins. RASMUSSEN, J. V. May 17, 1958, No. 15907/58. Classes 43 and 141 In a necktie comprising a downwardly tapered core member 1 for the knot portion, the core member is provided at one side with a hole 2 extending throughout the full height of the core and at the other side with an upwardly opening recess 3. The narrow end 16 of the necktie is passed through the hole 2 and may have a rubber band threaded on it to provide a friction grip with the walls of the hole. Part of the broad end 17 of the necktie is pressed into the recess 3 where it is secured by a pin passing through holes 6, 7, and the depending part of the broad end extends over the front face of the core member. A cover 8 of the same material as the necktie with a stiffened backing encloses the core member and is fastened by a bent pin 11 which pierces the overlapping ends of the cover and engages in an oblique hole 12 in the core member. An aperture 14 in the upper end of the pin receives the hook 10 at the end of a strap 9 attached to the front portion of the cover.
