866,686. Mineral-mining machines. AUSTIN HOY & CO. Ltd. Feb. 5, 1960 [Nov. 6, 1958] No. 35713/58. Class 68(1). A cutter chain-carrying jib of a mineral-mining machine consists of a jib arm 41 and an outer structure consisting of parallel arms 44 connected together by a rounded end piece 43. Interlocking dovetail or like section grooves and tongues provided on the sides of the jib arm 41 and the inwardly facing sides of the arms 44 allow the outer structure to slide on the jib arm 41 axially thereof on adjustment of a nut and screw structure 53, 50 positioned between the end piece 43 and the end of the jib arm 41, which extends substantially the full length of the arms 44. A cutter chain guide track is formed on the outer surface side of the outer structure. The arms 44 have the same depth as the jib arm 41. and no cover plates are provided on the top and bottom of the outer structure.
