Abstract

865,826. Reciprocating pumps. GASKELL & CHAMBERS Ltd., [trading as NON-DRIP MEASURE CO.]. July 23, 1959 [Aug. 26,1958], No. 27359/58. Class 102(1). Apparatus for dispensing liquid from a container comprises a pump cylinder 1 mounted transversely of a body 11 adapted to be connected to a container 12. A plunger 4 extends from one end of the cylinder for actuation against a return spring 7 while the other end of the cylinder is provided with an outlet port 2 controlled by a spring loaded valve 10 of plastic, rubber or similar resilient material which is accommodated in a detachable discharge nozzle 8. The body 11 contains an inlet valve 17 and.carries a dip tube 16. The quantity dispersed may be varied by substituting a piston of different length or by using a piston embodying interchangeable components to vary its effective displacement.
