Abstract

865,701. Travellers for ring-spinning. COATS Ltd., J. & P. April 29, 1959 [May 16, 1958; May 23, 1958], No. 14599/59. Class 120(2) [Also in Group XXV] A traveller for textile spinning or twisting machines comprises a hook device of moulded plastics having two hook portions 23, Fig. 1, joined together by a shank 22, the inner surface of one portion 23 having a curved base 49 at which is exposed a neck 48 of a wear-resistant insert 25. The insert is arranged at an angle depending on the direction of loading. The sides of portion 23 are cut away as at 50, Fig. 2, so as not to impinge on a thread 51. In a modification the base 125, Fig. 15, is provided with a necked insert 126, Fig. 13, along each side. In another arrangement, the insert 132, Fig. 16, is hollow and provided with holes 134 so as to be filled when the device is moulded.
