Abstract

865,474. High-frequency couplings. COSSOR Ltd., A. C. Aug. 25, 1959 [Aug. 25, 1958], No. 27145/58. Class 40(8) The central conductor 19 of a three-conductor strip-line extends through an aperture 26 in the wall of a rectangular waveguide 10 and is terminated in a cross-piece 30 the ends of which are electrically connected to the walls of the guide. The conductor is printed on one or both sides of a shaped insulating sheet 20 and is formed with portions 28, 31 of restricted width to improve matching. The outer conductors 12, 13 are spaced by members 21 and are apertured near one end to fit over the ends of the waveguide 10 and short-circuit termination 15. They are clamped to the flanges of the two waveguide components by bolts 16 and spacers 17. Bolts 22, carrying the spacers 21, pass through longitudinal slots (not shown) in the insulating sheet 20. These permit adjustment of the cross-piece in the direction of arrows 24. After adjustment, the ends of the cross-piece are clamped between straps 33 connected to the walls of the waveguide.
