Abstract

865,469. Transformers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Feb. 25, 1959 [March 12, 1958], No. 7950/58. Class 38 (2). The leakage reactance of the transformer, shown in Fig. 2, is adjusted to the required value by moving the laminated shunt member 5 along the limbs 1, 2 and wedging it temporarily in place and by relative movement between the primary and secondary coils 6, 7, 8, 9, along the limbs. The member 5 and the movable secondary windings are then secured in place by wax or bitumen. The primary coils 6, 7 may be connected in series or parallel or form two primaries and the secondaries may be arranged similarly. Alternatively, the windings may be connected to form an autotransformer. The core may be formed of rectangular strips arranged in any of the ways described in Specifications 857,241, 857,915 and 865,468.
