Abstract

865,059. Non-refillable stoppers container closures. GIANFRANCESCHI, C. Feb. 11, 1958 [Nov. 6, 1957], No. 4414/58. Classes 66 and 125(3). A stopper for a non-refillable bottle comprises a valve member 5a guided by ribs 7 on a tubular member 2 weighted by a ball 6, the end surface 5b of the member 5a engaging a seating 3a to close an aperture 4 when the bottle is upright. An inner cap with dome 10 and fins 11 receives the ball 6 when the bottle is tilted, Fig. 3 (not shown), so allowing valve member 5a to slide off the seating 3a whereby liquid in the bottle may flow out between ribs 7, through the member 2, and between fins 11 to the stopper mouth. The stopper parts may be of synthetic resin or rubber, and the ball 6 of synthetic resin or glass. A member 8 secured to the bottle by a strip 9a, is threaded at 12 to receive a screw cover and may have a metal foil cap 13 with cork insert 15 and pulling tab 14, Fig. 4.
