Abstract
864,979. Filters. CHARLES COLSTON Ltd. Nov. 19, 1958, No. 37267/58. Class 46. [Also in Group XXIII] In a dishwashing machine in which a pump P, Fig. 1, draws liquid from a washing chamber C and feeds it to a rotary sprayer I, a filter element 20, Fig. 3, easily accessible for cleansing, is arranged in the feed between the pump P and the sprayer I. The filter 20 is disposed within the sprayer I which is of the construction described in Specification 832,756. The drive is transmitted from a rotary driving spindle S to the end cap 31 of the sprayer I through a clutch spring 50, and to obtain access to the filter the cap 31 is turned by hand to unwind partly the spring 50, whereby the sprayer I may be detached from its mounting flange 42 and removed axially. For easy removal of the filter 20, e.g. for cleaning, it is attached by a bayonet slot connection to the forward end 13 of the sprayer feed tube 11. The filter 20 may comprise a tubular structure of nylon gauze strips mounted on longitudinal ribs. An additional filter F of coarse mesh is arranged above the sump.
