Abstract

863,809. Barium titanate transducers. RAYTHEON CO. March 27, 1957 [March 29, 1956], No. 10056/57. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (4). [Also in Group XL (b)] Disc-shaped barium titanate transducers are chosen with diameter to thickness ratios of 5.75 to 1, 4.25 to 1, or 3.41 to 1. These ratios are said to provide side lobe reduction for transmission along the disc axis when the disc is excited at its frequency of resonance in the thickness mode. The transducers are mounted as described in Specification 863,810.
