Abstract

862,027. Doors for buildings. MORLEY, R. E. April 22, 1959 [June 7, 1958], No. 18279/58. Class 20(3) [Also in Group XXV] A panel for a multi-panelled sliding door comprises on one edge one hinge part having a pin 15 formed integrally with a return flange 14 of a web 12 outwardly extending from and integral with the said part and on the other edge a second hinge part having a circular socket 20 into which the pin 15 can be located, connected integrally through a flat 18 to a web 17 which in turn is integral with one side of the second part and through a web 21 to the other side of the second part. The adjacent surfaces of the flat 18 and the web 14 lie on the transverse centre lines of the respective hinge parts and the web 12 is radiused at its outer end portion 13 so as to be embraced by the socket portion 17 of the second part. The hinge parts may be integrally formed at either edge of the panel as indicated in Fig. 2, by an extrusion process, or they may be extruded for fitting to the panel which has been prefabricated, the sides of the hinges being openended to embrace the panel edges.
