Abstract
A boom assembly, for a work machine, comprises a hoist boom (1) mountable at one end on the work machine, and a bending boom (3) pivotally attached to the far end of the hoist boom and moved by aid of an actuator (2). At the far end of the bending boom (3) there is pivotally attached a jib (4), and at the far end of the jib there is pivotally attached an auxiliary jib (5), at the far end of which auxiliary jib (5) there can be installed, by means of conventional technique, various prior art working devices such as a log grab (6). To the bending boom (3) and the jib (4) there is pivotally connected an actuator (7) in order to move the jib with respect to the bending boom. To the jib (4) and the auxiliary jib (5) there is pivotally connected an actuator (8) in order to move the auxiliary jib with respect to the jib. A ground-engaging supporting means, shown as a plate (10) attached to part (9) of the jib (4), secures the jib (4) firmly against the ground, even if the ground is soft. Alternatively a support leg may be used. <IMAGE>
