861,030. Moulding pipes &c. ELECTROKEFRACTAIRE S. A. Nov. 7, 1958 [Nov. 12, 1957], No. 35861/58. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XXVIII] A mineral oxide lining for a straight or curved pipe section for the passage of a powdered abrasive material, e.g. cement, is produced by casting molten material such as aluminium oxide in an annular mould cavity so formed that the casting fits accurately into the outer metal tube of the pipe section into which it is slid. The parts 1, 1a and 3 of the mould are formed by spraying on to heated aluminium patterns layers of a mixture of zircon sand which will pass through a 45 sieve but not a 150 sieve, and 3-5% by weight of a phenolic heat-hardenable resin. The parts are assembled to form a cavity 6 which is filled with at least one molten mineral oxide, e.g. aluminium oxide, through hole 1b.
