Class 64(3) The domestic fireplace described in the parent Specification in which some of the combustion air drawn through a duct d beneath the floor level is heated in flowing upwardly through a passage e in front of a chamber a containing the ashbox to an air outlet at the front of the fireplace regulated by an independently controlled hinged or pivoted flap f, is modified in that the flap in conjunction with a fixed hood n is arranged, when opened to the dotted line position shown, to direct the heated air leaving the passage e away from the fire and into the room in which the fireplace is situated.
