Abstract
860,747. Lavatory basins. TWYFORDS Ltd. Aug. 4, 1959 [Oct. 30, 1958], No. 34759/58. Class 26. In a combination of a lavatory basin 1 and a bracket 3 for fixing it to a wall 2 or other upstanding part, the bracket 3 has an upwardlyextending part 18 for securing to a rear upper portion of the basin and a forwardly-extending part 20 with an aperture 30, receving a downwardly-projecting externally screw-threaded portion of a waste outlet tube 13 at the basin bottom, and clamped to the bottom by a nut 34 on the said threaded portion of the tube 13. The tube 13 in a hole 6 in the bowl 4 with a ledge 5 is gapped towards the interior of a boss 8 and an extension 11 to take overflow water entering at the apertures 10, and the nut 34 has washers 39 and 40 between it and the bracket part or arm 20, between which and the underside 12 of the boss 8 and extension 11 is a washer 33. A web 22 extends from the arm 20 along the front face of the part or arm 18 which has extension 27 enclosing a web 29 extending from the arm 20 and having a hole 25 for a screw 26 for wall-fixing of the bracket with a screw 24 in holes 23 in an upper portion of the arm 18. Integral with the arm 18 is a flat flange 21 with holes 31, each registering with a hole 32 in the underside of the rib 16, through which pass screws 35 with heads 36 and passing through sleeves 37, on the lower portions of which nuts 38 are tightened. In a modification the bracket is secured to the wall 2 by an integral rear extension built into the wall.
