Abstract
860,646. Moulding-machines. VOLKSWAGENWERK G.m.b.H. Feb. 11, 1958 (Feb. 13, 1957], No. 4378/.58. Class 83 (1). In shell-moulding, the mix is blown from a pouring-head which is filled to a level which leaves an air-cushion above the level of the mix therein, through a perforated nozzle at its lower end, the perforations being of such a size in relation to the physical characteristics of the mixture that, in the absence of pressure applied above the mix, said mix does not pass through the perforations. The head 7 is filled from a hopper 8 through a valve 10, a collar 18 causing a space 20 to be left. The perforated nozzle 5 is of a shape conforming to the pattern 2, a number of which are supported on a rotary table 1, and lifted in turn to the nozzle by a ram 4.
